Hi everyone! Great forum, I've been going through trying to see if someone else had my problem and I've enjoyed a lot of posted samples of databases to nose around in to help get you through. Learning a lot, and at the risk of nerding out on my first post, that's very cool.. :)-)

OK, here's my situation. (If there's a link to this, please post it as I've looked around a lot over the last couple days and can't seem to find it.)

Business has multiple 'Skills' they offer and a 'Rate' for those skills. Setting up a Checkbox so for each record you can choose multiple 'Skills'. I was hoping after the checkbox is filled to create a button which auto-fills out multiple separate 'DisplaySkills' fields. Next to each 'DisplaySkills' is the 'Hours' estimate. User would choose Hourss estimate, and 'Cost' then shows 'Rate' (for 'Skills', relationship created bteween Skills and Rates already) * 'Hours'.

Kevin Frank's checkbox-parsing:

is pretty close to what I'm trying to do. But imagine if after checking the checkbox and once you clicked full report, on the 'Portal + Magic Key' you could estimate hours and with each Task you had an assigned rate.

I was trying to go that route, but the scripting is a little over my head based on my experience.

I was hoping for something where once my Checkbox Field is filled out, I can click my button and run a script that's:

Clear all DisplaySkills

Put the first checked item into DisplaySkillOne

Goto Next DisplaySkill field and fill in next Skill selected (loop until all are filled in)

DisplaySkill Rate gets loaded in based on choice.

End

Then as User chooses Hours, Product is computed.

I've done pretty much everything except for: the filling of the fields with the selection of the checkbox and loading the rate based on DisplaySkills selection. Is there a simple way of doing it, as in link above?

Hopefully there's an example out there of this I might have missed, a link would be appreciated!

Thanks so much, and have a fantastic day. :-)

Peace,

Magic Rat
