Newbies burk Posted May 9, 2000 Newbies Posted May 9, 2000 We have a number of individual users working with filemaker on the Mac. The plan now is to integrate our information resources personnel and have Filemaker hosted on an NT Server. We anticipate about 40 users. Of the 40, about 10 will create small aps and 4 will actively build fields on the server. Do all users require a version of FM?
LiveOak Posted June 9, 2000 Posted June 9, 2000 FM Inc.'s softare license agreement requires every user running FileMaker have their own copy. On the technical side, 1) develop FM applications stand-along on individual workstations, then 2) Host the finished databases using FM Server on a machine dedicated to running FileMaker Server version. It is a disaster in performance and stability to have multiple users launching the same copy of FileMaker on a file server!
