October 10, 200025 yr Newbies Can Developer create a runtime for the "other" platform? When running through the menus to creat a runtime, there is a window about the filename extension that seems to imply the I can create a Windows runtime.
October 10, 200025 yr Steve, FileMaker has created a runtime compiler for both platforms. These apps can only create runtimes for that platform. I believe the reason the for the "Fix filename for Windows" option is that bound files can still be opened in FileMaker on either platform and I believe this option is to insure that FileMaker (or your runtime app) can open the individual database. Clear as mud. Hope this helps. Jeff
October 24, 200025 yr Hi there Yes, you can create a runtime solution for Windows but you have to do it using a PC. The cd-roms (FM Pro 5 and Developer) runs on both platform. I am a mac user and I had a hard time creating one on the PC platform. Laurier
