Can Developer create a runtime for the "other" platform? When running through the menus to creat a runtime, there is a window about the filename extension that seems to imply the I can create a Windows runtime.

Steve,

FileMaker has created a runtime compiler for both platforms. These apps can only create runtimes for that platform. I believe the reason the for the "Fix filename for Windows" option is that bound files can still be opened in FileMaker on either platform and I believe this option is to insure that FileMaker (or your runtime app) can open the individual database. Clear as mud. Hope this helps.

Hi there

Yes, you can create a runtime solution for Windows but you have to do it using a PC. The cd-roms (FM Pro 5 and Developer) runs on both platform. I am a mac user and I had a hard time creating one on the PC platform.
