Server 10 Windows 2003 VMWare.

Database is working fine and being hosted out ok. BAckup was working fine until last Friday. now when I try to do a backup it says permission denied in the schedule pane's status.

When I look at the schedule assistant, it tells me the path is valid. I've tried several locations to no avail.

The 3 drives on the Server are all VMWare Virtual Scsi disks.

IT tells me nothing has changed....

any ideas on how to resolve?

thanks in advanced.

Well, whatever IT says: something did change.

Have them send you screenshots of the permissions & sharing of that folder and any top folder.

Usually what triggers this is that some IT guy changes the permissions on a parent folder and lets the changes propagate down to all subfolders.

Are you using the default "local system" account to run FMS or did you change that in the services control panel?

I can Terminal server into the System and look at permissions myself. Everything looks fine as far as I can tell.

Plain vanilla install, did not change anything.

I look at the permissions of the drives and it says that SYSTEM has full access.

So I guess that is what you are referring to when you say "local system" account?

should I change that in any way?
