Project Management Calendar

Featured Replies

Has anyone used any kind of Project Management Calendar in Filemaker pro 10 Advanced Server?

I am looking for a Calendar system can keep track of Project due dates. Adjust dates if a milestone is missed... and email updates to users when things are due or changed.

I have seen SEED Code that is mentioned on the Filemaker website, but not sure it does everything I need. The demo seemed a little clunky. I didn't see a good way for it to email updates out to users.

Any suggestions?

You might want to contact John at SeedCode directly, to discuss how his system could be modified to meet your needs. He's always been helpful in that regard.

Really, a "calendar" is mostly just a complex way to view a referenced data table visually as "months", "weeks", etc.. The appts/events data table itself is simple. To email reminders you'd just need to do a Find on the data table, collect the data somehow (since no one would want a separate email for each appt.), then send the emails.

So, while SeedCode has good calendars, the email part of it is about the appt. data table, and would be the same for any calendar solution using using a data table.

The questions are when to run this script, and how to gather the data ( List() function?, Custom Function?), and to set up the SMTP on the FileMaker Server machine.
