Jalz Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Hi Guys, At the moment I can save finds in fm 10 which is a great feature. The only problem I have is I would like to share that find with other users on our network who all log in with different account names through active directory. Does anyone know if I can programmatically do this through scriptmaker (i.e. allow saved finds to be accessed by other members in the same active directory group)
bcooney Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Ray Cologon details a solution for this in his FM10 Bible. He basically stores the find criteria, layout and "name of the find" in a table--in, of course, a very elegant way. There is no way to share FM's builtin saved finds across Accounts.
Jalz Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) Hi bcooney, Thanks for the reply, I think I'll buy the book as it sounds like a good reference. Can you tell me whether it is a dynamic find across many tables or is it based (albeit a little more advanced) on one table like his demo in http://www.nightwing.com.au/FileMaker/demos9/demo903.html Thanks Jalz Edited January 4, 2010 by Guest
bcooney Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 This demo seems to be exactly what's in the book.
