Please bear with me as I try to describe what I am trying to do. I really know nothing of scripts and have taught myself to use FMP.

I have a database to keep track of students. I have a field, that opens to a calendar, to input when a student needs to renew their CPR training. I would like to create a button to find all students who's CPR is due after a certain date so that I can then use mail merge to send them a reminder letter.

I have never written a script before and am not even sure if I am asking this in the right place.

Your Filemaker application folder has a tutorial with example file and instructions, you could start there.

If all you want is a button to do a find

you can make a button of any object (including text) that can be a script step of Find (field that includes date that you seek), then you can enter the date you want.

Or you can create a script with an automatic date (like anything within the next 30 days)
