January 13, 201015 yr (Note: OS is Win 7, not Vista) Lately when I close any of my databases, my system reacts as if it had, instead, crashed: I get the message "FileMaker Pro has stopped working", and here is the problem signature: ------------------------------------------- Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: FileMaker Pro.exe Application Version: 10.0.3.303 Application Timestamp: 4a3ad6bc Fault Module Name: QuickTime.qts_unloaded Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 4afa620b Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 6e68be79 OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 0a9e Additional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 Additional Information 3: 0a9e Additional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 ------------------------------------------------ I recently uninstalled some Apple stuff, but not QuickTime. Can anyone decipher this and tell me what I need to reinstall, or what service should be running that isn't, in order to stop these error messages? Thanks, Karen
January 16, 201015 yr The issue seems to be with Quicktime: "Fault Module Name: QuickTime.qts_unloaded" Try this: disable all the plugins you may have and then try to close the databases, see if it still crashs. If not then it's probably related to one of the plugins. If not, see if there is an updated version of QT for Windows7...
January 16, 201015 yr Author Actually (for anyone else who might encounter this problem) I solved it by uninstalling and reinstalling QT. I'm guessing that during one of my rounds of removing all the crapware that came with my newest computer, I uninstalled something that QT needed. I'm still baffled by what FMP is doing with anything having to do with QT, however. If it weren't required by the occasional web tutorial, I'd uninstall the thing entirely. Karen
