rmsherman Posted March 2, 2001 Posted March 2, 2001 I created a PC version runtime program and burned it to CD. The program was downloaded to another computer, properties was opened to deselct the "read only" attribute and the program ran OK. On a second computer (1999HP w/4GB free on the hard drive) I downloaded and saved OK. I went to properties to deselect read only, checked apply and then received this error mesage: "Unable to set the attributes for (system, etc.)" I tried three times. Any ideas. Thanks. This will elimiate all kind of problems like this. What happens is that the CD format is different than the OS format and can have damaging effects on parts of the files, especially the properties and names. Putting them into an achive (Zip, Stuffit, etc) keeps the file attributes and names intact. You also get added functionality such as the capability to choose the folder of installation and such. ------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Kurt Knippel Consultant Database Resources mailto:[email protected] http://www.database-resources.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
