I've experienced extreme fragmentation of data within solutions created using developer. Fragmentation begins almost immediately and continues until the file can no longer be accessed. Are bindings the issue?

I don't think FileMaker Runtime is the problem - it does not do any fancy file manipulation. I would suspect the hard drive is close to full and is having problems finding unused blocks to save the data.
