I am running FMP 10 and cannot access my company's Oracle 10 DB via ODBC. When I first loaded the new version of FM, I could. Then, all of a sudden, I can't. I have looked in the windows XP control panel at the ODBC tab. There is no driver for FM. Silly question, where do I go for this? Remember, it used to work.

If you are trying to access the Oracle data from FileMaker then you need the Oracle driver setup as a System DSN.

I have the Microsoft Driver for Oracle as a DNS for the target database. I next tried to relate the table in the relationship graph and get the error message DATABASE ERROR. What am I doing wrong?

Sorry for not following here...

Are you saying that you have the Oracle 10g or 11g driver installed as a SYSTEM DSN properly?

Yes. My work around is to use Microsoft Query to hit the database, return the found set to Excel, and then import from there. Since I can hit the data from Access and Excel, I must have it configured properly.

But perhaps not properly for FileMaker Pro's ESS. Again... Its definitely a System DSN not a User DSN right?

How would I configure the Filemaker ESS any differently? Remember, out of the box, it worked great(as all Filemaker products do)but somewhere along the line it failed. Hence, these posts.
