FM Server 10 installation crash

Featured Replies

Hi, We've recently had to clean install the system on a G4 Power Mac and as a result are now trying to re-install the FM Server Software from CD. However, as soon as I double click on the installer icon, the installer crashes unexpectedly.

The G4 runs OX 10.4.11 and I've run all software updates. In the original installation guide it says it requires Java 5.0 (32bit 1.5.0_13). I think we're actually now passed that version. Could that be the problem?

Any helps would be most appreciated.

Gabriela

That and the fact that G5 is the minimum platform certified for either version of FileMaker® Server 10.

Thank you Steven,

It is of course a G5, sorry, my mistake. We've been running FM Sever 10 on it fine previously, before the re-install of the System.

Can you tell me how I can revert the Java version back to 1.5.0_13?

Many thanks. Gabriela

May be your install disc is damaged? Can you make a disc image of the installer disc as this will verify the disc at the same time?

Thanks, that worked. Disc Image created successfully and it's now installing. Hope all goes well from here.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
