Generate Report From Date Range

Hi guys. I've been developing a Filemaker pro solution for my internet sales business. I am using a web shopping cart that can export the orders in to an excel format from which I am using to import in to filemaker pro. From there I can input other order info like tracking numbers etc. So I created a new table and several fields that relate to the ordering process however I have been trying to figure out how to generate reports over time by a date range. Weekly or monthly etc. This is important so I can use filemaker pro to calculate monthly revenue shipping costs etc for use with my financial statements. Currently I am exporting my records in to excel, saving only the records from a pre-determined date range and than using the outsum fuction. I was hoping I could have filemaker pro do this for me as what I am doing now seems ridiculous when compared to what filemaker pro can do! I am using FP 10 advanced on windows.
