Generate Report Base On A Field

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this forum. Apology if this question been asked before.

I'm using FM 6. I modify the given template "Asset Management" for my org asset tracking purpose.

I'd like to write a script so that when the button is clicked, the user will be able to define what criteria does he/she want the report to show? Mainly it's "Funding Source", after the user is done with the criteria, there will be a report generated base on that.

Current I have a report template that simply show every that the user "Find" as their criteria and then switch to the report view to print it. However, I'd like to have a button that strictly based on "funding source" because one of the header item is Funding Source: _____. It's also possible to get by if I just put the funding source as the line item for each record, but why try to squeeze everything in a line if it's possible to put the funding source as a header item. Could someone tell me as well on how to put it as a dynamic header, so that every time user run the script and select a certain funding source, the header item will change base on that?

Thank you very much,

nyung
