My initial test of GetURLasText was a great success. But I quickly discovered a problem with all IMDb.com URLs -- "java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 403 for URL: http://www.imdb.com/"

A little Googling turned up a hint about what's causing this error -- IMDb may be using browser detection to determine the page request is not coming from a real browser.

Web page fetching works fine in New Millennium's MediaManager plug-in, which I've been using with FileMaker 10. Unfortunately, MediaManager doesn't work in FileMaker 11, and there's no word when the new version will be released.

Hi Ward, I tried this and got the same responses. It is possible to create a modified version of that module that will accept a user-agent as a parameter, so you can pose as whatever browser you'd like. Please send me a direct email if you'd like an estimate for that.
