Newbies rickj Posted October 15, 2001 Newbies Posted October 15, 2001 I have a database I created orginally in FM Pro ver 3.x. I have since converted it to ver 5.0 without any problems. If I purchase FM Pro 5.5 Developer will it upgrade my database to ver 5.5? I believe Developer 5.5 to include within it FM Pro 5.5. Is that the case? Second, my database is actually about 10 databases all linked together. If I use Developer 5.5 to create standalone runtime applications of these 10 databases, will I have problems with the linking? I emailed Claris with my question and haven't heard back yet. I wasn't sure where else to go. thanks for any help Rickj
Ocean West Posted October 15, 2001 Posted October 15, 2001 You might not want to hold your breath in waiting for a response to your email. "Claris" has been gone for over 4 year. It is now FileMaker Inc. As to your issue with Developer, it is correct you received a "Developer" eddition of FileMaker Pro with the Developer Tool (The Binder) Once all your databases are up to 5.5, you can create a stand alone runtime. There should be no "Linking" issues. FMP 5 and FMP 5.5 do not need to be "upgraded" as with 3 to 5.
