I have a number of databases which started life in Filemaker 4.0 and were subsequently converted to being version 5.0 databases with the .fp5 suffix. Everthing works fine. In Windows Explorer, the file "Type" is correctly shown as Filemaker Pro 5 Database.

Using Filemaker Pro Developer to bind files into runtime-versions works fine. The database files have a a suffix of my choice once they are bound. All the bound version show up in Windows Explorer as of the "Type" Filemaker Pro 5 Runtime Database, with the exception of two originals which show up as of the "Type" Filemaker Pro 4 Runtime Database.

These files start off as Version 5, are bound using Developer 5 but end up as Version 4.

Can anyone throw any light on this?

Chris
