I'm just about to start creating a runtime solution using v11 (have just got the upgrade, although at present still using v9 and v10 for projects).

Can v11 runtime solutions export/produce PDF files? If not (as per older runtimes), what are the best free PDF drivers runtime creators recommend to Windows users (CutePDF, PDFCreator etc), Mac users on the solution will be fine?

Edited to add, if there aren't really essential features in v11, I may considering creating the runtime in v10, to ensure support for people running older versions of Mac OS X (another annoyance of v11, supports Windows XP, but not OS X Tiger...)

Thanks!

Like all previous versions, FM11 runtimes do not include PDF capability. The claim is that it is an Adobe licensing restriction (see info on these forums). I recommend CutePDF as a user-installed extension to FM runtimes. It operates as a virtual printer and provides PDF capability to all of the user's applications.

But are you aware of the flaws in FM11 that make it impossible to produce a quality, distributable runtime for PCs? For the majority of applications, portal refresh flickering on PCs and missing dlls render the resulting built runtimes unusable.

Pending a corrected release of FM11, you may want to stick with FM10, as others are deciding to do.

Yes, Mac users will be fine for PDF creation since they are accustomed to being able to create PDF files from any program that prints using the Mac OS X print interface. (The only exceptions are programs on Mac OS X that defeat this built-in feature so that they can do their own PDF stuff or prohibit PDF creation for their own reasons.)

Windows users will need the third-party PDF printer driver since Microsoft doesn't provide one.
