Newbies johnalexander2009 Posted April 15, 2010 Newbies Posted April 15, 2010 Hi there I have a simple question. I have a client data base that I'm reorganizing. Simply.. I have files ( tables? entries? ) that I want to copy to a duplicate filemaker file ( with same title fields exactly ) In excel I could just highlight each entry and copy it over no problems. I have no idea how to do this with Filemaker. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it ! : ) Troubled in Toronto
MetaSys Software Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Using Manage database dialog, you can import the tables (only table structure) from client database to duplicate copy. 1. Open the duplicate file 2. File > Manage database >> tables >> 'Import' button 3. Select the fp7 file >> list of tables appears >> mark the table for import new tables are created in duplicate copy. You will have to set the relationships and then updated the calculations, lookups fields.
