Greetings all, I'm taking the first step in admitting I have a problem. I created a file navigation box and want to place it on each layout so those who like to "see and click" can navigate easily.

I place this grouped box just off the page margin on the right side of the layout. I've tried locking it in place, but it slides to the right when I exit edit mode. Any tips/tricks/suggestions are appreciated.

I have no idea what you're describing, lol. What do you mean by "exit edit mode?" What's a file navigation box? Can you post a screenshot?
