stefangs Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 after leaving school, i thought i'd be finished with complex math and suddenly i find myself having to evaluate the following formula in fm: Floor(32768*POWER(10;(-3*Field1)/(16000*$B$1))+0.5;1;1) all i was able to accomplish is to replace the expression power with the ^ symbol, but fm complains that there are too many parameters in this function. i have no idea where to fix it. i do know that the result should be 30760 if the value in Field1 is 293. reading my post, i must say i completely empathize with everyone not responding to this question :
Søren Dyhr Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 Not that I fall via virtues into such nomenclature at all, but the notation seems a little excel'lish... whats in the $B$1 cell? I have substituted it with a field2, which leads me to think the solution is somewhere near this: Floor(32768*10^((-3*field1)/(16000*field2))+,5) I reach your result if field2 is "2" :?? --sd
stefangs Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 soren, you crack me up. you're not only a math genius, but also a detective! yes, it's from an excel sheet and yes, there needs to be a 2 in it also! *big bow* thank you!!
