tbfilemaker Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Can someone help me understand the maximum number of FileMaker files Server 11 Advanced can host simultaneously? The FileMaker site advertises the following, does this mean FMSA11 now can host "unlimited" files per HW constraints? "NEW! FileMaker Server 11 Advanced does not limit the number of FileMaker Pro clients. Connections are limited only by your hardware and operating system." Thanks in advance, much appreciated.
bruceR Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 Files and client connections are two VERY different things. Maybe different language would clarify. "NEW! FileMaker Server 11 Advanced does not limit the number of FileMaker Pro simultaneous connected users."
Steven H. Blackwell Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 Can someone help me understand the maximum number of FileMaker files Server 11 Advanced can host simultaneously? 125 files. Although as a practical matter, I'd advise you not to get too close to that number. One hundred files is a good rule of thumb. Remember that each file can contain many tables. HTH Steven
tbfilemaker Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 Thanks for the information, in the past FileMaker would specifically list this limitation, it was not that obvious with the release of FileMaker Server 11 Advanced. Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.
