SheFreak Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Hi All, my first post! I've just designed a simple layout which features a header (which is an image imported into a container field) and a footer which is a pasted image. The preview shows just one page on an A4 sheet of paper, yet when I do print I get two pages, the second of which is a page with just the header. What do I need to adjust to remove this second page? Thanks,
comment Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 A field in the header part shows data from the first record on the page. If you want the same data to appear on every page, use a global field.
SheFreak Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 What I meant was I want only one page to print. I can't work out what is causing a second blank page with only the header to print.
comment Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Most likely, the layout is too tall to print on one page. Your printer may be enforcing stricter margins than the preview. Try reducing the height by a few pixels and/or set the layout to use fixed margins.
SheFreak Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 I've been moving things about for some time now and the problem persists. Even the print preview shows just the one page.
comment Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I am not sure what "moving things about" means - I suggested you reduce the height of one or more of the layout parts.
SheFreak Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 After a bit of tinkering with parts the printouts are now perfect. Thanks!
