records from two DB in one field ?

Hi, i have a invoice database with a portal , in the portal the field

"item number" which show me inventory records from another database. what i want is that the field " item number" shows me the inventory items and also another inventory that i have in another database. Can i do that? can the field shows me the records from two different databases?
