Persistant Sort Problem

I have a few portals that are set up with a scripted sorting solution based on Excelisys's Extreme Portal Sort. This solution has worked very well for my needs. But my problem is that when a change is made to a field that the portal is being sorted by, quite often the portal resorts behind the scenes but the view does not seem to refresh. The result is the data being viewed is not lined up with the actual data. So when you make a change to a row you are looking at unsorted it actually changes the row that is really there after the sort. I have tried refresh window in a variety of ways but none of them seem to do the trick. Has anyone else who uses this technique experienced this? Any ideas on what to do or is it possible to turn off persistant sorting?
