GoTigers Posted May 24, 2010 Posted May 24, 2010 We are hosting a database with filemaker server, and then four office computers with client access the database by choosing Remote. When our Internet service is down, the database does not show up in the window for selection. However, you can still access the database by opening FIleMaker and selecting Open Recent file. Is there some reason it is not showing up when the Internet is out?
GoTigers Posted May 24, 2010 Author Posted May 24, 2010 actually, the OS is 10.5.8, Leopard not Jaguar
Steven H. Blackwell Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Because you may be selecting it through Favorite Hosts rather than Local Hosts. If so, you are actually going out onto the Internet to make the connection, rather than connecting through the LAN. Double check the settings. Steven
GoTigers Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 Thank you so much for the response. I checked, and Local Hosts is the default option when clients choose Open Remote. Not sure what else could be going on.
