Now I know im not the only one who has had problems trying to print their own custom barcode labels . I started trying to print my own about 6 months ago but kept encountering lots of problems. I downloaded good software and bought a label printer (Zebra), but still I came across problems. Does anyone have any suggestions on software to use? Im close to giving up and really need some help!

Thanks

Hello you should be able todo this straight from Filemaker.

Create a layout within Filemaker to show the data you want on the barcode then page setup it to fit to the label. Use a barcode font and place this field onto the layout and it should be fine.

Hope that helps. Without seeing your db cant really help anymore than that.

See Barcodet and Texcodet at www.LifeSuccess.org

We print most of our labels direct from FileMaker using Mac and PCs (we do use python for one project with the ZPL language in Zebra printers) using Zebra and Brady printers. The drivers can be a pain sometimes when printing using a print server on a PC. The Mac OS’s drivers seem fine for the printers we have, but I have found one Brady and Zebra printer that I couldn’t get working using a Mac properly.

What printers are you trying and what seems to be the actual difficulty?

I should also say that Brady offers a server solution that works with mac and PCs, but haven’t used it.
