James Gill Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 (edited) I have created a set of layouts that I want my users to access. Basically, a user clicks on a button that then goes to a related record. The related record is opened in a new window, and then another new window is opened that displays a second set of related records. The second window that is opened displays related files that the user can open, and the first window displays a form layout that I want my users to edit. I have scripted a Pause Indefinitely script step that will run until the user either closes or saves the record so that they do not accidentally leave the layout and leave any windows open, but at the same time I want my users to be able to switch freely from one related record window to the other. Is there a way to leave a script running but let users freely select multiple windows to edit records? Edited June 14, 2010 by Guest
Vaughan Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Why not let the users open the windows they want, when they want, and allow them to navigate freely between them? I like the idea of the related record opening in a new window... but the second window showing another found set? What found set? Use portals to display related records, and let the user decide when to open and close windows.
