Spread Sheet 2 data sets - Is this possible?

Featured Replies

I would like to create a layout that looks like an excel spreadsheet. And I need help big time...

My data has these fields:

Date, player, score, game.

I would like "game" to be the column head. I would like "player" to be the row head, and I would like to add the score into the "score" field in the grid.

There can be any number of players.

There will be anywhere between 1 - 7 different games. So, I would like the layout to dynamically create column heads depending on how many games there are on that date.

Is this possible? I need guidance please.

Thank you!

example: (I would enter the score in the appropriate score field.

Date

_________Game 1, Game 2, Game 3, Game 4

Player 1 /score/

Player 2

Player 3

Player 4

Player 5

Something like the attached?

No dynamically created column heads though.

Wow! Fantastic, thank you for taking the time to help me. This is great!

Yes! I was giving up hope. This is looking really good. You gave me a great sounding board to jump off from...I'm adjusting for my specific needs, but I'm not 100%, I can't quite wrap my head around a few elements. Can I ask:

1. On the spreadsheet page by date, is there no way to dynamically have the header's game titles actually listed instead of generic game 1, 2, 3, 4? (also fyi: up to x# of games on a date possible, but there can be unlimited games to choose from as the game list grows.) ie: game 1 could be pacman, donkey kong, mega man, contra, or etc. Game 2 could be, pacman, donkey kong, mega man, contra, or etc, but wouldn't be a game already picked. etc.

brings me to...

2. I'd rather like to create a date record first, then add which games belong to that date (verses; pick a game, then add the date to that game. Subtle difference.) Further more, then, I'd like to add which players belong to that date/games.

So in other words, I pick that date first, then I pick the games up to x games (from master games list), then I pick which players (from master players list), then I add the scores on the spreadsheet page for each player/game combo...in that order. ??

As it is, as I try to adjust for these ideas, I end up messing something else up. I'm getting there, but any help would be sooooo welcome!

Thank you! xoxoxox
