Grand Summaries from Related Tables

Featured Replies

I have tried many things to create grand summaries in a layout having fields from related tables. Only those fields from the table directly associated with the layout will give grand totals. I can do sub-summaries using the same tables and layout, I just cannot get the grand totals. The main table is related to the other two by a date field and a unique company number or company region code. I would like to have the grand total following any of the sub-sammaries I have made. I have tried calculation and summary fields with no success - any ideas?

You should instead pick the most atomic of the tables, say if it's a many 2 many do it in the join-table, and then usher in values from both "one"-sides via the tunneling the relations provide.

I currently base the layout on the table that has the most data- the remainder is pulled from the other two tables each joined by a many to many relationship. Actually, the tables are joined by Store Number and Date- a combination that results in a one to one relationship between the three tables. This works fine for tabulating the data and creating sub-summary reports, but again no grand totals. Is there another method I need to consider?

Thanks for your help!

We're not talking about the same thing, could I ask you to upload a template with the structure here ... an I'll attempt to pluck the duck and stuff it with the desired virtues!
