The background we use on our local database was created by taking screen-capped slices of another application, and then piecing together in the proper dimensions to fit our needs. It's something I have to stare at 5 hours a day, so I thought it might be nice to give it the look and feel of my other Mac apps.

However, after the last upgrade from FM10 to FM11, the slices have different shades, making the whole layout look like a jigsaw puzzle. It doesn't prevent us from working, but it is annoying. Is there any way around this? I've looked through the preferences, and can't find one for "make the image files in your layout look the way they've looked for the past 4 versions of FileMaker".

I did try upping the color palette, but this had no effect. I've included a small screenshot of what's going on.

Any help is most appreciated.

I chopped up a graphic in Photoshop and put it back together as a background image in FM 11 and I am not seeing any problems.

If you post the actual graphics that you are using I will take a closer look at them for you. I am assuming that somehow the colors in each section got re-indexed.

I totally forgot that I had posted this question.

Sticking a bunch of new images in the database doesn't present any problems. It's only the old images that made up the DB. Very odd. And, like I said, 4 previous versions of FM displayed it just fine. Only FM11 has a problem. I've attached two images.

It looks to me as though the images have transparency and the darker patches represent where they overlap.

There may have been changes (improvements) to the way FMP handles transparency in FMP 11.

That's a good thought, and one I have considered. I've re-stacked slices, placed them side-by-side, and every other possible arrangement. The different colors persist, even with no overlapping.
