I need a real fine explanation on how ODBC and especially ODBC and filemaker work (preferably in a 'ODBC for Dummies' style).

Is there any website that provides this kind of information?

What I want to do is a mail merge with Microsoft Word.

Any other solution that might make me do a mail merge with Word is equally welcome.

Why not just export records from FM and do the whole Mail Merge in Word. Sort of thing I was doing in 64k memory in WordStar in 1982 :-)
