Open the database in FileMaker set the ODBC and you probably can access that from something else.

But the question still hovers: Why?

A good example of what you would like to do with a free language other than CDML is using the language built-in capabilities of handling different things (such as calculations, images...). But you're not willing to pay for the use of Lasso.
