Newbies dcs_Gill Posted August 1, 2010 Newbies Posted August 1, 2010 In FileMaker I know I can restrict IP address to my databases that I am hosting using IWP. Can you also do that using FileMaker Server? I have many databases on the server and some are using IWP but not all. I have one that I would like to be hosted using IWP but I need to restrict it to just a range of IP addresses and leave the rest open. Thanks for any help.
cpe1704tks Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 dcs_Gill, Yes you can restrict ip addresses, open you file and 1. Click File, 2. Click Sharing, 3. Click Instant web publishing, 4. Advanced options (Click on specify), 5. Check the accessible from ip address box, 6. enter the ip addresses Hope this helps cpe1704tks
Newbies dcs_Gill Posted August 2, 2010 Author Newbies Posted August 2, 2010 I know I can do this on the client but when I'm in FMP server I am not able to do this. Am I missing something?
cpe1704tks Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 dcs_Gill, I stand corrected. I just tried it myself and it does not restrict any ip. I am an IIS user and I know that I can restrict and grant access by ip inside of IIS. I can not tell you how to do it in Mac OSX 10. I am sure someone who uses mac server can explain how to restrict by ip address. Sorry to have wasted you time. cpe1704tks
