wintergreen Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 (edited) Tested this in the ScriptMaster.fp7 file and the results are the same. System is OS 10.6.4 Execute RunShellScript module with this shellScript: system_profiler -detailLevel mini This causes filemaker to hang This worked perfectly with the previous version of SM. Jesse Barnum Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I just tried with that same shell script and it worked fine for me, both using the evaluate command and registering it as a function. If you continue having the problem, please put together a small test file illustrating the problem and post it here.
wintergreen Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 Attached. This crashes every time for me. Filemaker version is 11.0v2 if that helps RunShell.fp7.zip
Jesse Barnum Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Hi Jack - I just tried the attached file and it worked OK for me. Can you try it again, and then send me your ScriptMaster log file?
wintergreen Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 Good news-- I updated the plugin from 4.01 to 4.02 and it seems to work now
wintergreen Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 It happened again today, which led me to discover the cause. If I have a certain USB disk drive connected (details below) then this will hang. Strangely if I run the same command via applescript or in the terminal, there is no issue. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the disk either. Capacity: 750.16 GB (750,156,374,016 bytes) Removable Media: Yes Detachable Drive: Yes BSD Name: disk5 Product ID: 0x2338 Vendor ID: 0x152d (JMicron Technology Corp.) Version: 1.00 Serial Number: xxxx Speed: Up to 480 Mb/sec Manufacturer: JMicron Location ID: 0xfd100000 Current Available (mA) 500 Current Required (mA) 2 Partition Map Type: GPT (GUID Partition Table) S.M.A.R.T. status: Not Supported Volumes: disk5s2: Capacity: 749.81 GB (749,812,400,128 bytes) Available: 667.41 GB (667,412,488,192 bytes) Writable: Yes File System: Journaled HFS+
Jesse Barnum Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 OK, it's good to figure that out - unfortunately, it doesn't sound like there is any way for me to reproduce the problem, which means that I can't do anything to fix it -(
