Matching up two Value Lists

Featured Replies

I'm sure this is probably a really easy fix and it's probably been answered here in this forum, but I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for.

What I have is two Value Lists. I want to just be able to add data from one Value List, match it to the corresponding data in the second list and populate another field.

For Example, COWP relates to Ski_Winter-Park.html. COWP is in the first Value List and Ski_Winter-Park.html is in the second.

Is this done as a calculation or relationship, or what? As I said, I'm sure it's an easy fix, just not sure what it is.

Thanks,

Ann

I think it would be better to use a two-field table for this.

I've never worked with Tables before, at least not in creating them. But I figured that part out. I still can't get how I match up the content of the two Value Lists.

I decided to upload the file so you can see what I'm trying to do. The related fields are Dest Code and Dest Hot Deals. What I'd like to do is enter the data in the Dest Code field and have it match up to the corresponding Dest Hot Deals data.

I don't see your file. Perhaps this might help:

This looks like what I want to do. I'm trying to apply the criteria from the example you posted and I think I'm close, but it's still not behaving quote the way I want.

I've tried attaching my file again and hopefully it works this time.

Thanks.

In the relationship setup, link Dest Code to Dest Code.

Thank you so much! That little change fixed the problem right away. Now the database is merrily doing exactly what I want it to do.
