Newbies jnichol Posted October 29, 2001 Newbies Posted October 29, 2001 All I'm looking for is a way to use FileMaker on Macs to enable kids in a Primary School to add their content easily to an intranet site, via a browser, so that what they add becomes available immediately for others browsing or searching the site. I gather there are various ways to do it: Custom Web Publishing with CDML and HTML Web Companion TCP remote access plugin (?) XML - hand coding DreamWeaver Ultradev 4-ODBC connection (am I right in thinking this way won't work?). Is there a method that strikes a compromise between learning curve, time to develop and efficiency? Thanks, John Nichol.
Anatoli Posted October 30, 2001 Posted October 30, 2001 The first choice (Custom Web Publishing with CDML and HTML) is good. I am publishing technical magazine for big international company with the same. Kids should learn just small bit for HTML formatting like <br> for new line, paragraph and heading tags and that's it.
Newbies jnichol Posted October 31, 2001 Author Newbies Posted October 31, 2001 Hi Anatoli. I've got the CDML reference database from Filemaker, so I guess that's the best place to start. I'll give it a go. Thanks heaps, John Nichol.
