Tony Hill Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 I have a pilot running on windows 2008 server. I have installed Supercontainer which is running fine on the LAN. IWP is also running fine on LAN. Most recent test was to get a remote dynamic url to allow access through my router (time capsule). IWP is working fine but always get a timeout with the web viewers and Supercontainer. I have the following ports forwarded to the server: 80, 5003, 16000, 16001, The server is in a domain and none of my client computers (on the LAN) are in the domain and they all access the IWP and the SC images fine. Only my colleague running remotely fails at the last hurdle. Is there another port which could be in use? I have SC set up to use 80, is that correct?
Smef Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 SuperContainer installed with FileMaker Server operates on port 80. If you have installed it this way on your server and are able to see IWP then you should be able to see IWP as well, if you filemaker URL is correct. SuperContainer running in stand-alone mode operates on port 8020. You will need to make sure that the IP you are using in your FileMaker database for SuperContainer is your external IP address. If you internal users can see it, but your external users can't then you are probably using your internal address in your web viewers in your database.
Tony Hill Posted September 26, 2010 Author Posted September 26, 2010 Thank you, David. It was indeed the address. I had not changed the address in web viewer to the external one. It is all fine now.
