Fields Gone Wild... Cache?

Featured Replies

This might not be a server problem, but I didn't know in what other category to post. Here's what's happening:

If a user creates new records in a database, it fills the fields out with random information from other records. The first thing that popped to my mind was file-corruption. But here's the kicker... it only happens from ONE client machine. All others, whether remote or in the same network/subnet are good. I've tested it.

The leads me to cache... isn't there a location in Mac OSX where FileMaker saves the database files temporarily if they are opened over the network? Removing this cache could help, no?

Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance, any help is much appreciated!

Check the version of FMP client this rogue computer is using. Make sure it is patched.

Also, versions before 8.5 could cause index corruption.

A a quick test on this rogue machine: create a new user account. Test FMP from this account and see if the problem persists.

Patched? What does that mean?

It's V11.xx, I'll can get the exact version if needed.

Removing this cache could help, no?

Probably not, since it's a temporary cache that should be cleared when you exit the application.

I think I'd remove FMP and then reinstall it.
