hiding fields

Featured Replies

Im an old foxpro programmer and am using fm pro in order to program for the ipad. I have a field with a drop down box. I have one item that is 'Abnormal". When that is selected I want the next field to be shown otherwise I want to move on to the field after that. Thanks for your help.

It still takes a bit but with vs. 11, you can handle it with filtered portals.

Simple visibility example

this seems to show only certain fields when you are reviewing your database. i tried to get this to work to 'unhide' fields upon entering text. a simple example of what i am trying to do is as follows. field 1 is sporting goods and a list comes up. At the end of the list is other. if other is selected then field 2 will be shown and the info can be typed in. thanks

It works when creating records as well so I'm unsure what you mean. List? There are many peculiarities with each platform when pop-up menu or drop-down list and sometimes you may need a Refresh Window [ flush cached ] trigger on your fields depending upon factors such as: the relationship to the portal, the type of filter on the portal, what type of control object is being used on your field and even at times other fields on the layout (your tabbing to next field).

Also, if by "'unhide' fields upon entering text" you mean each keystroke or before exiting the field, that requires script trigger as well.

Can you post a simple file showing your situation?
