Hi there

To use "Send Mail" in scripts works fine with Eudora and Claris Emailer - but what if I want to use it with Microsoft Outlook Express?

It's nothing to do with my internet config/Internet controlpanel - it's just not working with OE.

Any suggestions/updates??

To the best of my knowledge, FM 4.1 Send Email only works with Claris Emailer, Eudora, and Eudora Pro. -bd

No. I think the Send Mail script step relies on a technology that most email programs do not support.

However, the Open URL script step works with any program which is set to be your default email program. But you need to know how to construct mailto: URLs. If all you want to do is compose the email with the recipient filled in, it's pretty easy. The URL is of the form "mailto:[email protected]". However, if you want to specify the subject, cc, bcc, or body, then the format for the URL gets more complicated. If you have access to the Sept 2000 issue of FMP Advisor, take a look at the last page, and you'll find more details.
