Going to layouts of tables in other files

Featured Replies

If I want to create a script or do a button setup to Go to Layout, I only get to pick from layouts in the current file I am in. There does not appear to be a way to select layouts of tables in other files, unless I created those layouts of the tables in the other files from within the database file I am editing. In other words, the list of possible layouts to go to is restricted to those that live in the current file I am working in/on.

Am I missing something here? How can I get this done?

Thanks!

typo (plural of layout)

To go to a layout in file B from file A, you first create a script in file B that goes to the desired B layout.

Then in file A, you create a script that calls the script in file B.

Thanks Bruce. All of the obvious things are still obvious, but I don't always see them.

You posted this question to TechNet and it was answered there.

That's odd, I thought I subscribed to get email notification of activity on my Tech Net posts. Thanks for the heads up! Looks like I have some profile adjusting to do, or maybe I subscribed with my other email and need to setup a forward pass-through to my regular email account.
