Newbies giafusion Posted September 14, 2000 Newbies Share Posted September 14, 2000 After duplicating or saving a copy of our database (approximately 300MB) to a CDROM, I can preview, browse, export data but not add or edit data. I've tried saving or writing to both a regular CD and a rewriteable CD. I assumed that writing to a regular CD restricted or turned on the Read-Only restriction. I can't figure how to get rid of this. I need to constantly update and transfer interoffice data but our database is too large to save on regular floppies etc. I do not have problems with saving any other programs or files to CD with full access and editing, just FileMaker program. Any solutions, recommendations are greatly appreciated.

If you need a large capacity read/write type removable media, try Zip or Jazz disks. The Zip disks come in 105mb and 250mb varieties, and the Jazz in 1gb and 2gb varieties. They are like gigantic floppy disks, although the Jazz has performance closer to a removable harddrive. ------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Kurt Knippel Consultant Database Resources mailto:[email protected] http://www.database-resources.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
