Newbies hobie Posted November 26, 2010 Newbies Share Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) I would like to have a button (script)trigger a flat bed scanner and write to a container field. Scanner will output a pdf. I would appreciate any names of scanners that work well within filemaker. I know this was discussed several years ago and I hope some new equipment allows an easier interface. Thanks in advance. fm8adv / xp Edited November 26, 2010 by Guest The Topic: <a href="http://fmforums.com/forum/showtopic.php?tid/217910">Control a scanner with script</a> was moved from <a href="http://fmforums.com/forum/showforum.php?fid/31">Calculation Engine (Define Fields)</a> to <a href="http://fmforums.com/forum
Rick Whitelaw
Although it's likely some scanners will be more or less suitable, I think it's a matter of addressing the application that does the scanning. On a Mac I would think of writing a Calculated Applescript that calls a Shell Script. I'm not a PC person, but I believe the equivalent would be VB Scripting. If it requires the same level of study as the Mac solution, there's a fair amount of studying to be done! RW
