john renfrew Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 New to SC... Is there a way to inhibit the thumbnail creation if the dimensions of an image are SMALLER than the viewer?? Seems a bit daft to put a 4kb icon into SC only to have it also create a 20kb thumbnail, which also looks pretty poor, if bigger.
Smef Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 There is not a way to control the filesize of the thumbnail generated right now, though I'm not able to generate a preview image which is larger than the original file. Could you post your file up here? One thing to keep in mind is that your OS may be artificially inflating the filesize that you see. An OS sets data block sizes, which is the minimum size a file can be on a computer. Even though your file may be only 1500 bytes, it may show up on your OS as a 4kb file, if 4kb is the smallest file size your OS is set to use.
