Neville Posted May 22, 2001 Posted May 22, 2001 Hi Vaughn previously helped with FM4 problem crashing with photos. Following his advise now works fine and have photo database ~600mb. (We use fm to operate real estate office using it to record listings, print wndow cards etc - works well) We have home pages (www.cynthiadykerealty.com.au) hosted by our local real estate institute where we have pages for virtually all our properties. To add/amend/delete date we print out a fact sheet on the property from fm, fax it to them and e-mail the photo or photos. Would like to do this directly from fm using e-mail function. I see that we can send e-mail and I would make new field with all the data that we currently print (eg new field for all data, calculation (text) being "property address="&address field&"price="&price field etc etc. However we also need to send at same time the photos (up to 4. I see that we can add an attachment at same time but must nominate a specific file (eg "photo for 10 Smith Street.jpg") Is there a way to make the attachment dependent on the property that we are e-mailing and to send multiple attachments at the same time. Alternatively, I have tried concatinating the photos (which are imbedded in an associated file linked to the main file by the address, but nothing comes out. (eg as above plus &Photos:Photo1&Photos hoto2 etc) Any suggestions appreciated. Neville
Vaughan Posted June 14, 2001 Posted June 14, 2001 Sending attachments is tricky... what might be easier (if the db is shared using Web Companion) would be to include a link to the record/imagge on the e-mail messages. This would be done by making a calc filed in the database that generates the necessary CDML/URL tags to find the server/database/record/containerfield. It's not as hard as it sounds.
Neville Posted June 16, 2001 Author Posted June 16, 2001 Thanks for the tip Vaughan We are not using web companinon. I understand what youmean but I dont thinsk it will help us in this case Thanks anyway
