script create new records but prevent editing

Hello,

I am new to this forum but it looks really great.

We have an existing records system and we would like to allow all users to create new records while preventing them from editing existing records. I can figure out the script for new records, but I can't get the privileges set to accommodate this. Is such a thing possible?

Welcome!

Filemaker's security lets you define record level access rules. Vaughan has a technique that allows editing a record if its ID is in a global field. So, your New Record and Edit Record button could set this gID field.
