Display data from two separate tables in one portal

Is it possible to display data from 2 separate tables in one portal, if so how? Do i create a 3rd table and somehow draw both tabled data into the 2rd table, then set the portal up to look to that 3rd table? How would i set up the 3rd table if that is possible, or is there a easier solution?
