Hi there,

Again a little issue here. I'm sure that the solution must be simple but I was not able to find it.

This is the case: I have a portal in wich documents (pdf files) are added for archive purposes. It is possible to open the document by double clicking the field with the program specified in the system preferences. The field must be in browse mode for this action. In this case it is possible to erase the field content and that is what I want to avoid. Users clicking the field must not be able erase the fieldcontent. I've tried to make a button out of it but then it won't open the document.

Is there a way that users can access the field to double click but are not allowed to erase the data in the field?

Hope to get a response soon. I'm busy with it for a day and I'm not able to solve it.

Your help is much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Adri

Don't allow entry to the field. Create a script to insert the pdf (as a reference) and have another script (using the field as the button) to Go to that field [select perform] to open the file
