What are the limitation of the ScribeDocReadValue function with Word documents?

ie why are the contents of some tags truncated?

I gather this function doesn't work with tags in text boxes or tables.

Are there any illegal characters that cause issues?

Is the length of the string limited?

I have the latest Scribe plugins but when I use the ScribeDocReadValue on tags with a few paragraphs I only get bits of the text. Anywhere from one to 10 words etc.

There are no restrictions on text content which ScribeDocReadValue will get when reading text from a content control field. ScribeDocReadValue is designed to work with text Content Control fields, not any tag or box in a word document. Can you post your document up here or email to me so that I can see what you are experiencing?

Thanks for your reply.

Attached is the original file you sent me. The tag contains: This is a CC Field with the tag “myField”

But all I can get returned on Mac & PC is: with the tag “myField”

I have another sample with a few paragraphs and only get 9 words returned.

I am using the 'How to use Scribe.fp7' from 360Works+Scribe-1_12 to do my testing.

I'm not able to reproduce this issue, unfortunately. I'm using scribe 1.2, which is a newer version than what you may be using. Can you try updating you plugin and then give this another shot? If the problem still persists please give me a call/skype so that we can do screen sharing.
